One of the features of this type of devices is simplicity, so developers rarely manage to make them functional, so they have to look for options to attract the attention of buyers. The answer is quite simple – to develop an attractive design. That is the way Smok engineers went, presenting recently more original than functional devices. Having decided to continue the already proven from the positive side of the series Solus, the company presented the Smok SOLUS G POD kit. This POD-system even though “does not catch stars from the sky”, but it can pleasantly surprise even skeptical vapers.
General Info
Smok SOLUS POD kit is a compact POD-system, equipped with a medium capacity battery, compatible with cartridges with built-in grid vaporizers of Solus and Solus 2 series. The form factor of the new device is quite traditional – it’s a small stick with rounded corners and edges. The developers paid special attention to design – the body is made of translucent plastic, under which you can see the “stuffing” of the device. In addition, the manufacturer has taken care of LED backlighting, which can be changed or turned off with a single button. Activation of the device is made only with a puff. POD-system is designed to use the previously released cartridges with built-in 0.9 ohm grid vaporizer Solus and Solus 2 series. SOLUS G Device Battery Pack
Sometimes on the Internet you can find the information that the company Smok began to lose its leading position in the market. It is safe to say that the information is poorly supported by facts, as this manufacturer is still in the top five vape devices. And the confirmation of this can be considered a regular release of new devices that are not only in demand among vapers, but also deservedly become a sales hit around the world. Having decided to continue one of the popular Solus series, the company presented two similar devices SOLUS G and SOLUS G-Box, which immediately published the official information about them interested many fans of delicious and flavorful vapor.
You can’t say that Smok SOLUS G POD kit is made in some very original form-factor, because it is quite traditional stick with rounded edges and corners, which has good ergonomics. The Smok SOLUS G POD kit works under the control of a proprietary chipset that allows you to get the power of 13-16 watts. The device is activated only by puffing. The only button on the bottom of the device is designed to turn on / off and to change / deactivate the backlight. Taking into account the variability of backlighting, the whole bottom part of the device changes its color depending on the battery level.
Solus POD cartridge
Smok was one of the first to offer vapers unified cartridges for POD systems, so it is logical that SOLUS G POD kit was originally designed to be compatible with the previously released consumables. Solus and Solus 2 cartridges can be installed in it, made on 0,9 ohm grid and differ only in the volume – 3 ml and 2,5 ml respectively.
The POD system allows you to change the puff mode – MTL or RDL. In order to change the blow, you need to remove the cartridge from the battery pack, rotate it 180 degrees and put it back. To refill a cartridge, you remove it from the battery pack, open the cap on the side, and pour in 3 ml or 2.5 ml of liquid, depending on the type of cartridge you are using.

Smok developers did not pay much attention to functionality of SOLUS G POD kit, but paid more attention to the visual design of the device – made a bright original case and added backlighting. But at the same time the device is easy to use, self-contained and compact.
