Review of Geekvape Aegis Max Box Mod

If you analyze the vape market novelties released recently, you can see that manufacturers offer vapers dozens of variants of sub-mods and POD-systems. But it doesn’t mean that all vapers have switched to them en masse. Fans of traditional box mods, drip pots and tanks are not as few as it seems. It is for them that Geekvape company produces classic mods and tanks. One of the most famous lines of this mastodontaveip-industry is considered Aegis series of unkillable devices, which are in special demand among vapers. Deciding to continue this series, the company decided to release another mod Geekvape Aegis Max Box Mod, which is a worthy successor to this line. Naturally, the new box mod is very similar to the previously released ones, but it has a number of changes and additions, thanks to which it will become very popular.

General Information

Geekvape Aegis Max Box Mod box mod of medium size, running on a single battery 21700/2070/18650, controlled by AS chipset, productive and functional, made in a case with IP67 protection. The design and form factor of the new mod is already familiar to many vapers, the only thing is that the device has become a bit larger due to the battery used. AS chipset will please the vaper with its functionality, performance and reliability, so it will work consistently well. You can buy Geekvape Aegis Max Box Mod in black main color with red, gold, gray, black and silver inserts.

Equipment

It’s worth saying that this box mod will (most likely) be sold as a starter kit with Zeus X Sub Omh Tank, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t buy Geekvape Aegis Max Box Mod separately. The package is extremely simple and concise:

Aegis Max Box Mod;

Adapter for 18650 battery;

USB cable for charging and firmware update;

User’s Manual.

Appearance and design

The Aegis series from GeekVape is known to all vapers, as the first device of this line appeared about two years ago. At the moment there are five devices of this series Legend, Solo, Squonker, X and Boost. All devices are made in the same style, but differ in power and functionality. The fact that Geekvape decided to continue the lineup by releasing the Aegis Max Box Mod is quite logical and justified, as there has not yet been an Aegis device that would work with 21700/20700 batteries.

The Geekvape Aegis Max Box Mod looks in a style familiar to vapers, so you can be sure that it will sit perfectly in the pooka. This device reminds a lot of the Aegis Solo, but it is a bit bigger in size 93.2*44.9*33.6 mm. The connector pad is big enough to fit atomizers up to 28 mm in diameter.

The device is made of aluminum alloy with an eco-leather insert, so it weighs relatively little. Naturally, the new device is protected from water, dust, shock and corresponds to the IP67 protection class.

Maximum power Geekvape Aegis Max Box Mod 100 watts, which is provided by a replaceable battery 21700/20700/18650 (provided you use a special adapter). The battery is installed from the bottom with a screw-in plug that closes hermetically. The battery can be charged using the micro-USB connector located on the side panel and covered with a silicone plug.

Board, functionality and features of use

Geekvape Aegis Max Box Mod works under the control of the familiar to many vapers chipset AS-100, allowing you to get power up to 100 watts. It is worth saying that when using 20700/21700 batteries 100 watts is quite realistic. If we talk about functionality, it is quite standard, allowing the vaper to use the device in several basic modes – Power(VW)/ VPC/ TC/ TCR/ Bypass Mode. The minimum resistance with which the box mod works is 0.05 ohms, so there will be no difficulties with spirals.

For ease of use, the box mod display is equipped with a quite familiar display with a vertical location. On the display, the vaper can monitor the operation of the device, receiving information about the battery charge level, power, mode of operation, coil resistance, operating current and voltage, the number of puffs.

Conclusions and impressions

To be honest, from Geekvape Aegis Max Box Mod I wanted to expect more, not just support for three battery sizes and updated chipset, as it is in fact a little bit grown up Aegis Solo. But at the same time the device will please you with its performance, reliability, functionality, and the fact that it is not afraid of water, dust and shocks (but you shouldn’t hit it with a hammer).
